Flexible Design

The Multivan offers an amazing amount of space and flexibility, no matter what your needs. The seats can easily be moved forward or back, folded, turned into a bed or removed completely. And should you need to take a weekend adventure or a family holiday, there's plenty of space inside for seven adults and all their luggage.

Space and flexibility

The Multivan's interior space optimally combines variability, functionality and comfort. It has the flexibility and fittings to be whatever you want - a mobile office, a family wagon, a recreation vehicle, or all the above. The key to its adaptability is its unique rail system. Four slide rails are installed into the floor of the rear cabin which all furnishings are easily and safely mounted onto. Simple. Brilliant.

Legendary Functionality

The new platform is the stuff of legends. Volkswagen has seriously raised the bar in terms of performance, safety, handling and functionality. For your passengers' comfort, the interior features 3-zone climate control air-conditioning and individually adjustable armrests for the front two rows of seats. Plus front, side and curtain airbags for driver and front passenger and outside rear passengers. And for your driving comfort, the Multivan is engineered to be easy to drive, with great visibility and the handling of an SUV.

Versatile luxury

With 5 flexible passenger seats in the rear, the Multivan will always accommodate with its sliding, rotating, reclining and removable second row of captain’s chairs. Whilst in the last row, there's a reclining bench seat on a rail system that allows for superb legroom or exceptional boot space.

Integrated safety systems

Volkswagen's reputation for extensive on-board safety features is evident in the new Multivan. There's six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with EDL, ASR, Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) and ESP with Brake Assist. They, along with plenty of other systems, are all there to make sure you and your passengers always travel safe.

Rear View Camera

With the Rear View Camera, even the trickiest parking spot becomes a breeze. When reverse gear is engaged, the camera is activated. Projected on the Audio Display, it shows you a clear view of what's behind the vehicle, with on-screen guidance lines to assist you into difficult parking spaces. The Rear View Camera is standard on Multivan Highline and optional for Multivan Comfortline (combined with the RNS510 Navigation system).

Turning light

As part of the Multivan's passive safety system, turning lights help to illuminate blind curves and intersections. When turning at a speed of 40km/h or less, the inner fog light illuminates the edge of the road. Possible dangers can therefore be recognised more quickly for greater safety during the journey. The headlights come with a coming/leaving home function which automatically switch on when you get in and out of your vehicle (standard for Highline, optional for Comfortline).

"Side Assist"

"Side Assist" helps you change lanes when in traffic. Using radar sensors to monitor the vehicles around you,a visual warning will appear in the Multivan's door mirrors if another vehicle is sensed in the area surrounding your blind spot.

Efficient TDI engines

Both TDI engines for Multivan are great fun to drive. Harnessing the efficient common rail technology with precise injection, they deliver strong performance coupled with great economy. This actively saves fuel, so that even stops at the filling station are more fun.

Looking at our environmental impact, we've engineered our engines to be even greener. In the Multivan, both TDI engines are equipped with diesel particulate filters to reduce harmful CO2 emissions, fulfilling the strict Euro 5 emission standards.

103 kW (340 Nm) TDI engine

Whether you're taking a long drive or a short trip, 340 Nm of torque and 103kW of power ensure that it's enjoyable. Driving satisfaction is also ensured with the inclusion of the 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard. Coupled with the TDI engine, it ensures that CO2 emissions and fuel consumption are significantly reduced, benefiting the environment and your wallet.

132 kW BiTDI engine

The Mulitvan's BiTurbo TDI engine offers a huge 400Nm of torque and 132kW of power. And it's not at the expense of economy either. Paired with the clever 7-speed DSG transmission, this engine offers a combined fuel consumption of just 8.1L/100km.

4MOTION all-wheel drive

Mud, rain, dirt - nothing stands in the way of the Multivan. And with 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive, you're supported every inch of the way. It distributes engine torque as required between the front and rear axle, redirecting power if wheelspin occurs. Thereby increasing traction and driving enjoyment.
